TapTopic is an innovative AAC device app, designed to open up new channels of communication. This tool is specifically crafted to assist individuals with speech impairments, developmental disorders, and anyone aiming to improve their syntax and lexical diversity.
Our application uses the power of Topics, each a container for words from various categories - subjects, actions, descriptions, and more. This structure allows for the creation of meaningful, grammatically correct phrases, easing the communication process.
Aiding comprehension and retention, weve integrated a symbol retrieval API. For every word typed in, the app presents a corresponding visual symbol, creating an association between the word and its meaning. This feature provides a learning experience that is both intuitive and engaging. The over 11,000 visual symbols authorized for use by ARASAAC are best in class for augmentative and alternative communication.
In addition, the app employs state-of-the-art text-to-speech technology to voice the constructed phrases, assisting those who struggle with speech and pronunciation. Also, users can create and save their own Topics and Topic Display Items, customizing the tool to cater to their unique communication needs.
